We are excited to introduce the Provincial Election Workspace (PEW), a state-of-the-art mobile application developed through a collaborative effort between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) and the Home and Tribal Affairs Department. PEW is poised to streamline administrative processes during elections.

Objectives

Empowering Presiding Officers: PEW provides a user-friendly mobile application for over 16,000 presiding officers. Presiding officers will have exclusive access to PEW, where they can streamline various administrative tasks. For instance, upon logging in, they can avail helpline assistance and access the Quick Response Force (QRF) support.

Electoral Process Management: Presiding officers will input login information, initiating a series of tasks such as retrieving election materials from the RO office, transporting them to the polling station, and providing a detailed list of items like ballot boxes and papers. At each step, they can mark tasks as complete, receiving confirmation messages.

Task Lists: PEW will display separate lists for completed and pending tasks. Presiding officers can mark tasks such as material delivery, staff arrival, and security personnel deployment as complete, ensuring a systematic workflow.

Polling Station Setup: Presiding officers will mark the completion of specific tasks like preparing the polling booth, signaling the readiness of the station. A separate list for completed tasks will be generated.

Polling Commencement: When polling begins, presiding officers will mark the initiation, and in case of any emergency, they can pause polling by pressing the QRF button, resuming it after verification.

Emergency Response: In case of unforeseen circumstances, the QRF button will pause polling. Presiding officers can select a relevant reason from a list, allowing for prompt verification before resuming.

Administrative Dashboard: For governance and monitoring, KPITB has developed a dedicated dashboard. This tool provides an insightful overview of the entire electoral administrative process, facilitating effective oversight for the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and the Home and Tribal Affairs Department.

Implementation in Upcoming Provincial Elections: PEW will be utilized for the first time in the upcoming provincial elections. This marks a significant milestone in our journey to modernize and improve the electoral administrative process, setting a precedent for innovative solutions in governance.

Training and Support: To ensure a seamless transition to PEW, comprehensive training sessions will be provided for all users. Our support team is ready to assist with any queries or concerns that may arise during the implementation phase.
